Wired: Paralyzed Monkeys Move Arms With Brain-to-Muscle Commands

By connecting a single neuron to an external machine, scientists help a temporarily paralyzed monkey regain partial use of its hand. The machine bypasses the area that was blocking brain signals and connects the brain directly to the arm muscles.
