Long before the French or English came, the natives of the "Five Civilized Tribes" had developed a massive "oil-based" culture. The reason why the "Roggenfelder" family (aka Rockefeller) made a bee-line to Pennsylvania and Ohio was to sell "Snake Oil"...or "Medicine Shows".
