As far as my uber-trendy-international-blogging-chick friend is concerned, memes are internet fads.  The term, meme, is rapidly spreading through internet social networks to describe all that which is propagated electronically, and it looks like the revised definition may become pandemic.

Drew made me aware of a new meme that "has legs" and is catching on, called the Face Behind the Blog Blog Meme which, according to Drew, is "one meme I didn't see on your blog that I actually think is pretty interesting is the one where professional bloggers post personal pictures (with family etc) on their blog. I think it's called other faces or something. But, it's actually gotten some legs and seems to keep growing." Well, Drew is an expert, so I believe him...

I hate the "8 things" meme but I also think this particular meme has brought memetics to the fore of popular culture. I especially love it when I find a mutation of the original meme, "what I am trying to tell you is this.

I was looking around at some of the Internet memes known as blog memes and I found one called 47 Channels, which is just out of control in terms of intimate things and just the fire hose of questions. I wonder how these simple "getting to know you" games can result in identity theft?

I found a pretty cool new blog meme that I might even try, if I can think of all the computers I have owned, the Computing History Meme:
