Open space isn't necessarily good for wildlife or ecosystem protection. If that were the case, then Montana would not have any endangered species. There would be bison, wolves, grizzlies and sage grouse everywhere—but these species are on the verge of extinction. Why? Because of sprawl? Hardly. Because of agriculture—primarily livestock production.

Basically, "Kroll Security Intl" is the company that 1st claimed Osama bin Laden was behind 9/11 and Kroll is the ONLY contractor responsible for "standing up" Iraqi military and for providing the WHite House with info on Iraqi casualties, and how the war is going.

Of course, always caveat lector when dealing with Wired Magazine. While they do a pretty good job of coming up with some of the more attention-grabbing headlines, they are rumored to have an inordinately high concentration of ex-NSA employees working on their staff. This particular piece posits that HAARP is not an anti-missile technology, nor a weather modification instrument nor, are we to believe, is it a communications exponentiator.

The Spooky Truth

In June, the Senate passed a strong, bipartisan compromise to raise mileage for cars and light trucks to an average of 35mpg by 2020. This is the first Congressional increase in fuel efficiency in 30 years, and yet the auto industry is pushing a proposal which would weaken and delay the Senate compromise. Their "tricky" proposal would only require 32 mpg by 2022 and actually cap American innovation on mileage improvements at 35mpg. The spooky truth is that just a few years and a few miles do matter when it comes to making a difference for America.

This Fall there will be an important Energy Bill up for vote by Congress, a Bill that will take relatively aggressive steps towards reducing our reliance on foreign oil and foreign governments while increasing our dependence on renewable energy, such as wind power and solar power. Please sign the petition to help give your member of Congress a little incentive to pass the more aggressive version of the Energy Bill legislation, undiluted by the auto or the oil industry and their lobbyists.
