One great thing about owning a Social Media PR firm is that I get to do cool stuff. Another great thing is that I can bogart some of the stuff. Well, I am number-one box of the Life Changing Box, which you can see over on my Facebook Profile!
My Data is My Data: Protecting Your Privacy on the Internet
I have been working with the gang over at Flugpo to put together a plug-in for Internet Explorer (IE) for Windows that will allow folks to be able to track what is going on with Facebook Beacon, your cookies, your JavaScript, and Facebook's advertising partners. Thing is, it isn't out of private alpha yet so if you're interested, please join either the Flugpo MyDataisMyData group or the Facebook My Data is My Data group and we'll let you know when it's up! Best Bar Trivia with Less Smoke and Fewer Drunks
I love trivia games. I also love pool and drinking beer. Well, these three vices came together in a perfect storm with Zack’s Bar. Sadly, Zack’s closed and I am now old. For me, in my late 30s, hanging out in bars is downright pathetic. And I hate the smoke, and those days are over. I have not cast my shadow on Bar Trivia kiosks in years.
The Road to Firebrand Monday is Paved With Super Bowl Turf
The Road to Firebrand starts next week on ION (at 11PM every weekday night) and online at Firebrand.com. Firebrand loves working with me because I love commercials more than I love television. I am an evangelist. This week, they’re coming down the pike with something called The Road to Firebrand, “the multi-million dollar media buy will include spots on cable networks like MTV, G4, Sci Fi and VHI, as well as online video placements on TVGuide.com, YouTube, MySpace and Facebook, among others.” Check it out — it’s quite good and highlights all of our favorite stars from a lifetime of TV commercials and ads — true icons. Here are the teaser spots: Pregame, Kickoff, and Half Time. Via Chris Abraham
Why Facebook Beacon Isn’t In Your Interest as a Facebook User
Jonathan Trenn sees the insidiousness in Facebook Beacon. Check out why he thinks that Facebook Beacon might just be a little sinister and how Beacon isn't really in your best interest, "Beacon potentially violates the relationships that we form online. Ones that we in social media marketer so often say are built on trust and respect. Oddly, this happens with the retailer’s involvement. Facebook could easily come off as intruding into that relationship. This shouldn’t be underestimated. In a time that we’re talking about “listening” we’re talking respect."
