8 Things Meme Keeps Going Strong

So, I have the term "meme" set up on Google Alerts. Guess what has become a widespread pandemic? The 8 things meme, that's what. Here are the rules, thanks to Blanket in the Grove:

  1. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
  2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
  3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
  4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Face Behind the Blog Blog Meme

Drew made me aware of a new meme that "has legs" and is catching on, called the Face Behind the Blog Blog Meme which, according to Drew, is "one meme I didn't see on your blog that I actually think is pretty interesting is the one where professional bloggers post personal pictures (with family etc) on their blog. I was looking around at some of the Internet memes known as blog memes and I found one called 47 Channels, which is just out of control in terms of intimate things and just the fire hose of questions. I wonder how these simple "getting to know you" games can result in identity theft?

Computing History Meme

I found a pretty cool new blog meme that I might even try, if I can think of all the computers I have owned, the Computing History Meme:

"Tag you’re it. Please list your personal history of computers (input and output devices other than just a calculator) that you’ve owned/used. Feel free to add comments. Be sure to link back to this post so we have some provenance that links our posts together.

Blog Meme 101

From the QuixtarBlog, "A blog meme is a type of Internet meme that requires active participation by the blogger and rarely traces back to an originating source. It's often a series of questions that a blogger answers to share some personal perspective or experience on random topics."
