Long before the French or English came, the natives of the "Five Civilized Tribes" had developed a massive "oil-based" culture. The reason why the "Roggenfelder" family (aka Rockefeller) made a bee-line to Pennsylvania and Ohio was to sell "Snake Oil"...or "Medicine Shows". Long before Rockefeller changed his name, the British East India Company was busy buying up all the "Abiotic" and "Terpentine" seeps from Central Canada through Pennsylvania and Kentucky...where they apparently purchased the "oil" production from my ancestors.
It really wasn't 'Snake Oil" it was called "Rock Oil" or "Seneca" oil, after the Native American Indian tribe within whose tribal boundaries were the largest "seeps". Today on "google" most of the area appears to be "blacked out". Why?
If you know anything about the British East India Company, they weren't big on Law or Brains! That was their undoing. So although they signed "output contracts" in the "form of Oil Treaties" with the "5 Civilized Nations", they NEVER took the "mineral rights away".
That means, Rockefeller NEVER acquired the "Mineral Rights" to any "Indian" or "Snake Oil seep"..in Pennsylvania. So, when the UK bought out the "supply"...the Mineral Rights stayed put.
Basically, just like the sneaky little School Book Depository in Dallas, hid all the "oil proceeds", so too did the the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs...bet you never knew that..because they are a division of the Dept of the Interior that controls all the US oil supplies...(see Pete Domenici..thebiggest crook on earth!)
If I'm right, and I may be mistaken...there is an "error" in the "RESERVATION" languages of every Native American Tribe in the US. Can the "clause" be defeated? Only if you still own the "title: to the land.
The Federal Govt couldn't have acquired the "Mineral Rights" through the British Surrender, because if there WERE any mineral rights, they appear to have been in "PRIVATE" hands. That indicates that unless Thomas Jefferson wrote your tribe a check for a few hundred million dollars..you still own the oil rights...at least on Tribal Lands.
Ironically, the reason why so many tribes were unable to bargain with the Federal representatives in Good Faith, in the creation of "Tribal Territories" is because, the Federal Govt knew where most of the oil was and "gerrymandered" boundaries. In essence, the Federal System, concealed them.
Regardless, it soon became apparent in the early 1820's that the American Indian refused to acknowledge "money" or even "wampum" as "consideration" for the sale of langs...because their religion prohibited them from acknowledging "title" or "ownership" of the land itself. "
In other words, the Federal Government, illegally over-reached every single tribe...solely on the basis of their "Religious" beliefs. The tribe considered it "anathema" to take or sell the land of the great spirit. Instead, the frequently simply agreed to "Share" the land.
Try it! Under "Freedom of Religion", Federal Supremacy Clause, you have one hell of an argument to "Supplant" the oil interests of British Petroluem, especially in Oklahoma Territory and in Central Florida.
