"I had been thinking recently about how to measure and develop equations
for the spread of memes on the internet and that this could possibly be
used to measure and predict the time and depth of information
transmission and diffusion.
Fortunately, someone has beaten me to it. Acephalous is already working on measuring the speed of meme spread on the internet, using his blog on the topic of this as a springboard to see the dynamics and mechanics of how it works.
Unfortunately,
this was almost a year ago, and I couldn't find any results or compiled
info posted on his blog. Not very scientific! If he could deliver up
some hard data I could do some serious stats and charts...

thinking of doing this sort of thing myself, but I have no good way of
tracking its spread, so... there. Maybe I can just observe another
internet sensation and keep tabs on it."
